Ford Office Technologies Selected for the 2019 Pennsylvania Governor’s Achievement Award for Employers

Governor’s Achievement Award

Ford Office Technologies, western Pennsylvania’s largest independent copier/printer dealer and complete office technology solution company, was recognized as western Pennsylvania’s Governor’s Achievement Award winner at the 35th Annual Employment, Training, and Education Conference at the Employer Awards Luncheon held on May 8th in Hershey, PA.

Jointly sponsored by the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Association and the state’s Department of Labor & Industry, the Governor’s Achievement Award recognizes exceptional employers for their exemplary support of workforce, community, and economic development in the commonwealth, the creation of jobs, as well as their partnership to hire skilled workers through Pennsylvania’s workforce development system. Ford Office Technologies was nominated for this honor by the Pennsylvania CareerLink Fayette County for their commitment to the CareerLink program, their participation in various youth career programs such as the Challenge Program, and their service on a multitude of local Boards and Advisory Committees that includes the Boy Scouts of America, the YMCA, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Rotary.

Ford posted their first position on PA CareerLink in April of 2002 and since then have filled 62 of 133 positions posted through the PA CareerLink website. Due to recent company expansions, in 2018 alone, Ford Office Technologies filled 11 positions through PA CareerLink.

“We are proud to be able to offer on-the-job training and provide skilled employment opportunities to area individuals hoping to start or advance their careers.” said Susan Frank, HR Specialist. “We work very closely with CareerLink to match the perfect candidate with Ford’s culture to ensure the success of both, now and in the future.”

“This recognition is a result of Susan’s hard work and determination, as well as our belief that working with and growing your community is an instrumental part of being a local business owner,” says Johnathan Garlow, Ford’s President and CEO. “We are honored to receive this award and thrilled to be able to play such an impactful role in creating jobs in what has historically been a depressed area of Pennsylvania. The opportunities that we have created provide skills and experience that these individuals can use to forge a very successful career in the technology field.”
